A footbridge over Indian Creek provides entry to this riparian habitat, cool and damp yet inviting to hikers, runners and Wood Ducks alike. A single winding trail through the James Family Woods serves to link the Fairbury community via the Alma Lewis-James Trail to the Bluestem Trail, culminating in Fugate Woods.

At the east end of the Alma Lewis-James walking trail, over the James Woods Bridge crossing Indian Creek
