Fugate Woods
Remnant prairie grove with walking trails showing diverse spring bloom and migratory birds along the south fork of the Vermilion River.
James Family Woods
This wooded riparian habitat is inviting to hikers, runners and Wood Ducks alike. The single winding trail links the Alma Lewis-James Trail to the Bluestem Trail, culminating in Fugate Woods.
Jay's Timber
Remnant prairie grove with walking trails showing diverse spring bloom and migratory birds. Adjacent to part of Fugate Woods' north boundary.
Munz Park
Supporting native and pollinator habitat, this community park adjacent to Indian Creek also features a council ring seating arena.
Alma Lewis James Memorial Trail
A well-used paved trail for bicycle or pedestrian use connecting North Park to James Family Woods and passing by several areas of interest on the north edge of Fairbury.
Bluestem Trail
This mixed-edge habitat for native grasses and birds connects James Family Woods and Fugate Woods Nature Preserve with a bluebird house trail and a shelter area with gorgeous views of the sky.
Orth Trail
A continuation of the Alma Lewis-James Trail, this path heads northwest along the west side of Indian Creek.
Stafford Trail
A popular paved community walking trail that goes along the perimeter as well as winds through the Stafford Pool/North Park complex.
Griswold Prairie
A remnant of the tall-grass prairie habitat which once covered central Illinois, Griswold Prairie hosts a diversity of plant and associated wildlife species which persist in this undisturbed areas.
Sunbury Railroad Prairie
A remnant example of the Illinois Grand Prairie natural division in an abandoned railroad right-of-way, this is a tall-grass prairie habitat which hosts a broad diversity of native plant species.
