Focusing in the tri-county area of Livingston, McLean and Ford counties in Illinois, Prairie Lands Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting charitable community projects and developing educational programs, public spaces, and the conservation, preservation and beautification of urban and rural areas.

Opportunities abound for both supporting and learning or benefitting from Prairie Lands Foundation, from attending educational presentations on nature to helping with maintenance at any of the properties or even receiving or donating to a scholarship or other charitable community project.

All gifts to the Foundation are tax-exempt and can be designated to fund particular projects or to establish endowments.

PLF 2026 Annual Meeting

Prairie Lands Foundation hosted its 2026 annual meeting at Wells On Main on Monday July 27, 2026. PLF steward, Bill Handel, gave an informative and entertaining (and itchy) presentation on Ticks and Tick-borne diseases in Illinois. Advising on preventative measures that can be taken against Deer, Lone Star, and Dog Ticks among others. Catering services were provided by Dave’s Supermarket, Woody and Bubba’s BBQ, Dream Cabin Coffee, and the Prairie Central Hawks Girls Basketball team along with Coach Mike Wolf helped serve the dinner.
